Scotland

The accent just makes my knees weak!

This was not what i would have called a holiday but more a faulty towers experience! As written previously on my blog, we met a group of friends in Magaluf who lived in Scotland. So with me and my best friend never had been, it seemed the perfect little city break to keep that holiday buzz. We were deciding whether to drive, fly or get the train there. Driving probably been the better option but we chose the train so my friend could drink on the journey. So we bought bottles of wine and two crates of Kopparberg. Arriving at the train station was already a struggle, we hadn't printed our tickets off yet. And to me this is such an issue, i usually have my tickets sorted either through the week or i arrive hours early so i can have everything prepared. But we were running late because F is laid back and not a stress head OCD like me! But that eventually sorted, we boarded our first train of three! This was going to be a long day! The first journey was only under an hour so that wasn't that bad. We exchanged and boarded our second train and this was the longest. So we got our table seats and opened our crate and began drinking. Baring in mind we were getting about with a head full of rollers, representing Liverpool ofcourse. I don't even know why we attempted them because we have the shittest hair, rollers will give volume for about 30 minutes. Guess it was just the fun of wearing them and getting funny looks! We board our final train which was from Glasgow to Falkirk. Somewhere we shouldn't have gone. We should have just stayed in Glasgow considering we were going to go out here? But that is where they all lived so on we went.

Arriving at the bedsit, sorry hotel, we checked in to this deserted place and unpacked. We were the only guests in the entire place! We popped over to the wetherspoons for a bite to eat and our friends came to meet us. It was a sort of forreal moment. Had we really travelled all the way to Scotland to meet people we only spoken too about 1 quarter of our holiday for lol? But the excitement began to kick in so we quickly ate and head back to our Faulty Towers. Trying to shower in this place was like diving head first into hell. The temperature wasn't adjustable it was either ice cold or third degree burns! We opted for third degree burns doing some sort of dance so the water was only splashing us! Getting ourselves ready we have a knock on our door. It's our Scottish wee pals! So everybody starts to have a drink together and they decide to take control of the music. Now if any of my followers know what mc'ing is ie MC Smally. Yes that, that was their choice of music. Which just got us thinking what on earth is in store for us tonight! But we left and head to the train station to go to Glasgow. We went to some sort of Revolution student bar. Which i usually wouldn't mind, but i did not travel hours to go to the same bar i would go on a week day at home! So we head back to Falkirk and went to another student three story club. This was like Levels in Liverpool. Again not something i would have chosen wearing the dress i was wearing but when in Scotland.. We actually got ditched at one point because they knew literally everybody in there as you would do at a bar in your home town. But we just stood out like a sore thumb. It was Magaluf all over again! But you just grin and bare it and get another drink in you. From there we all ended up getting taxis quite far away to somebodies house for an 'afterparty'. Now this person either had numerous cats or i was allergic to this place and everybody around me. My eyes flared up like crazy and i felt awful. I look like i had been on the sesh for a week straight! I had to get outa here, asap! But we were in the middle of nowhere, no ubers, we didn't know any taxi's, we were basically fucked! All these kids around us all taking pills and stuff, now usually this is never an issue to me but sitting there sobered up and having some sort of allergic reaction causing me to slowly die, it was becoming an issue. Somebody managed to mumble us a taxi number and we jumped one quicker than anything. We both looked at eachother like what the fuck are we doing?! Getting back the hotel, it's around 7am now, broad daylight but not really an issue as we were still the only guests. No walk of shame!

Waking up the next day we just laughed about the whole situation. We actually didn't hear from our friends the next day as they were still at this after party until the evening! God bless drugs keeping the sesh going! We put our google maps on and head out for the day to explore. Its obviously raining, i mean this is Scotland.. Now this is where we had wish we had driven up because we were either walking everywhere or getting taxi's. We found a cute little bar to stop at for food and drinks that i had found on Tripadvisor. But my right eye was still majorly bloodshot from the night before. I just wasn't feeling in the mood, preferably because i looked like some sort of drug abuser. Still managed to get myself a few cocktails though, espresso martini's are my thing! Baring in mind it was Sunday now, and Sundays in Liverpool are the best nights out. Not here, here in Scotland there is fuck all to do! So even if i didn't have a messed up face there was still nowhere to go! So back to the hotel we went! And ended up having a drink and watching movies in bed. Wild night for us! And also, we still hadn't heard from our friends at this point! We were abit like oower, maybe we shoulda just kept it as holiday memories.

The final day has come and it was time to leave. Thank Fuck. That long arse journey was ahead of us and we both could not be arsed. This was another time we wish we had driven so it would have been an easier ride home! We boarded our first train, then the next and basically slept the whole way home. I'd like to go up to Scotland again but do it completely different! Stay in either Glasgow or Edinburgh and book a good hotel and go out into clubs we would enjoy. I think because we went into it blind (literally) and last minute it didn't go to plan. And ofcourse, meeting up with a group of people who are way younger than you its bound to have its differences. Although we do all still have each other on social media, not many messages have been exchanged since lol.
